I gave him an order! An order I tell you! And he left, he
left. He chose to leave. It was not my fault. He left, he flunked
himself, not me. It was not my fault.I gave Biff an order. I told him to come back, I gave him an order. She was just a buyer, a buyer for J.H. Simmons. She were painting her room! She lived down the hall! Biff, I gave you an order to come back. Why did you leave!
We were supposed to have dinner, Stanley said that they would meet me at home, because they left with the girls. I gave Stanley all my money because I knew I would not be needing them anymore. All I need is seeds. I haven't a thing planted in the ground. And yes Ben the woman has suffered. Suffered to greatly because of me. Which is why I am planting seeds. So that I can make up to her. You cant see nothing out there, in night. I couldnt see the damn seeds.
Oliver put his arm around Biff, it doesn't matter if he doesn't have an appointment, Oliver put his arm around him. May he rot in hell for leaving this house. Spite, that what it was. Spite is the word of his undoing, the cause for his rotting.Trying to blame it on me, trying to lay a nife in me. Dont blame it on me. Thats your fault Biff, not mine.
I cant beleive it, he likes me! After all this time, all our suffering, he like me! He loves me. He cried to me, confessing his love. Oh, Biff will be great, he will be magnificent. Imagine, twenty thousand under him. Oh, I cant wait. I cant believe it. He has always loved me. Ben, you were right, it is dark there, but full of diamonds. This is the best thing. The only way. He loves me, this is amazing. Imagine, Biff with twenty thousand dollars in his pocket. Oh, this sure is the best thing! He loves me! Imagine, he will be ahead of Bernard once again. Oh Ben, I knew it, that we were gonna make it. Sh! Sh! Shhh! I have to get out of here! Shhhh!

The Death of a Salesman - Diary #4
Willy- page 105
I haven't been to that restaurant in years. Last time I was there I was with Linda, and I was eating a fat steak with some bourbon. And last time I'rrrr remember, Biff was a salesman. What was that nonsense, Biff was saying that he was not a salesman but instead a shipping clerk. Practically, he was a salesman. Tryna tell me stories from the past, I'm not interested in that. Ive got way more important things going on that that. I was fired today, godamit. What will I tell Linda. That woman has been through hell and has waited so long. She has waited and waited. I have no more excuses, no more stories left in me. I need some good news to tell her. But what will I tell her. I have no good news to tell her, none. I don't want to make her suffer anymore. I have to make it up to her, but how?
And Biff just had to go and flunk math. If he had passed math we wouldn't be going through this. He would have went to college and all would have been well. He would of had a decent job. But he just had to flunk math. And I had nothing to do with his flunking. It was not me, it was his fault, not mine. Why are they always trying to blame everything on me. I didn't flunk him, he did. He flunked himself. Thats why he is no good for anything, no good. He flunked himself, it was all his fault not mine. I cant believe that he stole Oliver's pen,but not just any pen, that no good stole his golden fountain pen. How does one screw up like this. All Biff has to do is give it back to Oliver, but he doesn't want to. Which is why he will never be anything because he doesn't want to be anything. All he has to do to make this straight is to tell Oliver that it was an oversight in his part or that he didn't notice he had taken it. So simple, yet I still cant get biff to go talk to Oliver. If he didn't want to talk to Oliver in the first place, why did he go talk to him then.

The Death of a Salesman - Diary #3
Willy- pg76
That gosh darn Howard fired me. How could he? I knew his father! His father promised me. I even named him. He should be grateful for that, I named him Howard, and this how he treats me. I am Willy Loman, a salesman for gods sake, everyone likes me. He couldn't even give me 40 dollars per week, how am I going to pay the insurance. What am I going to tell Linda? My god. And Howard and his stupid recording machine, he kept on shushing me to be quiet because he wanted me to hear his spoiled little brat say all the capitals of 50 states. My biff is better than any boy, he was a star football player.
Know one knows me anymore, all I wanted was 40 dollars a week god dammit. To pay this dam insurance. Pull myself together? What did I say to Howard? Jesus Christ, I yelled at him didn't I? What did I say? I just wanted 40 dollars, I tell you, 40 dollars a week. Your father promised me. That ignoramus didn't even let me go to Boston. Said he dint want me representing the company. Geez, Im Willy Loman. I gotta earn money, goddammit, why doesn't anyone like me. Ive always tried to be well liked. Well ill be damned, I've always thought that if a man was impressive that nothing else in the world would matter. Why must everyone like me? Thats what Charlie said. My god! Why am I listening to this fool! Hes not even a man!
I talked to Bernard earlier today, saw him at Charlies office. He came talking to me as if it were my fault. What happened? What do you mean what happened? That son of a _____ teacher flunked him. He ruined his life, not me. Biff chose to lay down, that is not my fault? How is that my fault?
I know I'm a salesman, but I have always thought otherwise. You know, its funny that at the end, you are worth more dead than alive. Aignt that funny, of course its funny. I shouldnt have argued with Bernard, I didnt mean it, hes a fine boy.

The Death of a Salesman - Diary #2
Willy-pg 42
That Charley came in here interrupting my peace. He came in her insulting me and talking about things he does not even know the first thing about. He cant even handle tools like a man! Offerin' me that lousy job again. Who does he think he is? I'm a salesman, yeah I'm a salesman
Why, I oughta gone to Alaska with Ben. Oh, that great walked into the jungle, and when he was twenty one he walked out. And by god he was rich. RICH I tell you! And Ben, didn't dad used to play the flute? What do you think of the kids. I'm raising them right aren't I? Ben, Ben, Ben, we hunt know too. That's why we moved here, Biff can knock down any of those trees in no time. Come on Biff, show him. Hes the best there is Ben, no doubt bout it. Go along Biff, come on. You see, faster That's how I'm raising them, tough and rugged. Business is bad, but not for me, cuz I am Willy, Willy Loman.
I dont understand it, he is leaving to damn Texas, what is that. And I got nothing to give him. This kid just comes and goes, whats the point in this mortgage anyway, if no one is going to live in this damn house.
I long to be working from home, no need to be traveling all the damn time for business. Just like Uncle Charley. No, I will be bigger than him, and and I will be liked by eryone unlike Charley. All i gotta do is take more walks, just like today. Who whistles in an elevator? I tell you, only immature little twats do. Even Bernard doesn't do that. Ive never done it either. And who thinks I'm crazy? Biff, going to see Bill Oliver, gees, never thought id happen in a million years. OHH, and the million dollar idea, boy are they geniuses, just listen to the sound of this, "The Loman Brothers," ain't that something. Biff knows sporting goods better than anyone, I'm sure he can pull it off. That sure is million dollar. Together, they'd absolutely swallow the world! Biff better not mess up his stake with Oliver. After what I told him, he should win Bill Oliver over in no time.

The Death of a Sales Man- Diary #1
-Daniel Cuevas
Willy-pg 27
I am so tired, I do not know how I even made it home in one peace. I could not concentrate on the road and I do not know why. My mind kept wandering off. The view was beautiful and I would get lost in the landscape and start dreaming. Then I would come back into reality and almost be off the road. I could not drive normally. There is something wrong with me, I do not know what, this is very strange. I know that it is not my vision because I can see everything. Lately, I have been experiencing some strange thoughts. Thoughts I have never had before. What could be causing these strange thoughts?
Man, this kid, its unbelievable that he still can not make a decent dollar. That lazy Biff, he is 34 years old and still does not know what to do with is life. How can he find what he wants to do on a farm? What kind of life is that? How can Biff find a life on a farm, just how? Maybe, Biff just needs more time. Maybe he will just start out later in life, just like Thomas Edison.
Eighty thousand miles. Can you believe that. The dealers face was so funny when I told him that the Chevy had eighty thousand miles. Ahh, do i remember those days. Those days are really strong memories for me. Oh how Biff used to care for that car.
Linda keeps telling me to tell Howard that I have to work in New York. Tomorrow I will.
These apartments are killing me. Who in their right state of mind would get rid of all the trees and replace them with those filthy people littered apartments. There is no space to park anymore, the whole block is filled with cars. Apartments should be illegal. Because of all these people this country is going to ruin. That is why there is so much competition.

Daniel Cuevas-
"But why didn't they call you sooner?" I asked.
"The church would not allow your grandfather to let me use my powers. The church was afraid that-" She did not finish, but I knew what she would have said. The priest at El Puerto did not want the people to place much faith in the powers of la curandera. He wanted the mercy and faith of the church to be the villagers' only guiding light.
Would the magic of Ultima be stronger than all the powers of the saints and the Holy Mother Church? I wondered.
This passage talks about topics like religion, the church and magic. Antonio questions whether Ultimas magic is stronger than the powers of the saints. In addition, I wonder if later on he will question the powers of the saints and their legitimacy. Moreover, I believe that religions were created to control the people. For instance, "..the priest at El Puerto did not want the people to place much faith in the powers of la curandera. He wanted the mercy and faith of the church to be the villagers' only guiding light." Anaya included this quote to show to the reader that Priests choose to manage its people and their decisions, taking away their freedom of liberty. Furthermore, the bible states that if you sin god will punish you for them. I believe that this was created to scare people into obeying the bible, because if they sin, they will be "punished by god." I am not going to lie, this is a pretty smart way into making people good citizens. However, I dont like the fact that it is all deception and lies. I predict that later on in Bless me Ultima, there will be another Eureka moment in which Antonio learns of the truth about the church and priests.

Daniel Cuevas-
"I will go with one understanding," Ultima cautioned. She raised her finger and pointed at both of them. The gaze of her clear eyes held them transfixed. "You must understand that when anybody, bruja or curandera, priest or sinner, tampers with the fate of a man that sometimes a chain of events is set into motion over which no one will have ultimate control. You must be willing to accept this responsibility." (Anaya, 85)
"Do you want to help your uncle, Antonio?" she asked.
"Yes," I replied.
"It will be hard," she said.
"I do not mind," I answered, "I want to help."
"And if people say you walk in the footsteps of a curandera, will you be ashamed?"
"No I will be proud, Ultima," I said emphatically. (Anaya, 90)
In this passage, Ultima decides to go fix Lucas's sickness and invites Antonio to help her. I believe that Anaya included this passage because he wanted to do a little bit of foreshadowing. For instance, when Ultima states that when someone plays with the fate of a man, there will be chaos. This foreshadows that someone may have their fate tampered and that crazy events will unfold. Moreover, because of this I predict that Tony will be that someone that gets his fate tampered with. In addition, another example of foreshadowing was when Ultima asks Tony if he will be ashamed if people see him following the ways of a curandera. Thus, I also predict that Tony's fate will be to become a curandera just like Ultima. I wonder what Antonios parents would think of him if he became a curandera like Ultima. Would they accept him? Would they be angry with him? Would they both agree with him being a curandera? Also, I wonder if Antonio will be satisfied and happy following in the footsteps of Ultima. I believe that he would enjoy being a curandero. Another thing that is mystery to me is the chain of events that would be set into motion if Tonys fate is altered.
